The Consulate General of Denmark in New York is looking for the right candidate to fill a full-time position (37 hours a week) at the Passport & Visa office.
At the Consulate General of Denmark in New York, you will be part of a dynamic team that handles a wide range of matters from consular assistance to Danes abroad to applications for visa and residence permits for Denmark. Your primary focus will be:
Consular assistance to Danish citizens
Visa administration and processing/decision-making
Residence and work permits
Your skills and success criteria:
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with experience from the consular field. When assisting Danes in distress, previous work experience like e.g. social work or mental health care would also be found relevant. In addition to this, you have:
A high integrity and ability to handle stressful situations
Experience from working in a cross-cultural environment
Knowledge of and/or interacting with US authorities is an advantage, but not a requirement)
Fluency in English. Knowledge of Danish/any other Nordic language is an advantage
We expect you to be service minded, flexible and with an eye for detail. You are an accomplished user of MS Office Tools and we are looking for someone with strong communication skills, both written and oral.

You will be offered full-time employment for two years with the possibility of extension.
You will be entitled to five weeks (25 days) of paid holiday per year.

You and your dependant family members will be offered reasonable coverage of sickness expenses.
