Rock'n'roll leadership

PDFPrintE-mail

A rock band cannot survive without integrity, freedom, originality, drive and cooperation. Neither can a business. In the book Rock’n’roll Leadership author Thomas Geuken, our inspiring DACC speaker for the night, has taken the best of the spirit and methods of Rock’n’roll to bring inspiration to business leaders who want to give their corporations more edge.

Over the past 20 years, companies have preferred two basic metaphors for the management and organization of organizations tasks: war and sport. With the help of the war metaphor, companies have talked about strategies, conquest of new markets and about how we can use various SWOT analyses to defend our position from attacks. With the sport metaphor, companies have tried to solve management challenges by coaching, developing the team and talking about (peak) performance. Geuken claims that these metaphors are out of date, too conventional and rigid to meet the demands of the companies of the future.

In his book, Geuken boils the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll down to seven simple rules bringing verve, craziness and creativity from rock music into business life - and life in general. Seven rules that will help leaders and employees in transforming work into a calling, the workplace into a real community and your company into a frontrunner.

Come join us for an entertaining evening discussing the leadership strategies and methods of tomorrow.
